Moussa Wague is the new player of Gorica, and the Senegalese comes to the HNL from Barcelona.
Moussa Wague, a 23-year-old Senegalese national team player, is the new reinforcement of Gorica. The right-back arrived from Barcelona until the summer of 2023 on the basis of a transfer agreement between Barcelona and Gorica.
“I feel great, I can’t wait to play again, after almost two seasons without official matches. Big stadiums, great atmosphere, all that is nice, but it’s not the most important thing. For me, the most important thing is football, I want to help the team, win and move forward” , Moussa said after signing the contract and doing the first official photo shoot.
In his career, Wagué played for KAS Eupen, OGC Nice and PAOK, and he made 26 official appearances for Barcelona, six of which were for the first team.
Behind Moussa is also 1,511 minutes in the jersey of the Senegal national team, with which he played at the African Cup of Nations and at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, when he scored his national team debut and became the youngest African scorer in the history of the World Cup. He joined the U-17 national team of Senegal as a 15-year-old, and before the A national team, he played for the U-20 selection, with which he won fourth place at the World Championship, and for the U-23 selection.
“I have a great desire to play in the national team again, that’s why it’s important for me to have as much playing time as possible here. As I said, everything is possible in football, so I believe that my wish can come true,” he added.
